What Reportedly Shocked Kate Middleton And Prince William During Harry & Meghan’s Interview

As of this writing, Kate Middleton and Prince William have not publicly commented on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, but sources have shared some new information about how the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly feeling after watching, according to Us Weekly

While Meghan and Harry didn’t speak badly about Kate and William per se, there were some things that the couple said that Kate and William may have not known. For example, Meghan revealed that she had suicidal thoughts during her time as a senior member of the royal family. In another segment of the interview, Meghan discussed a concern that certain members of the institution expressed over the color of her then-unborn child’s skin tone.

Interestingly, according to Hello! magazine, William and Kate have kept on with business as usual since the interview aired. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official Twitter account has been active since. On March 8, 2021 — the day after the interview aired in the United States — the account retweeted a message from Queen Elizabeth about Commonwealth Day. So, how do William and Kate feel after watching Harry and Meghan air out some dirty laundry on international television? Read on to find out what a source has revealed.

Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly wish Harry and Meghan had these conversations in private

According to Hello! magazine, Prince William and Kate Middleton “have chosen” not to speak out at this time. However, there was a lot to unpack from Harry and Meghan’s interview, and it would be nearly impossible for the couple to not have any feelings about what was said. A source told Us Weekly that William and Kate “were in total shock” after watching the interview.

The source went on to say that “what shocked them most” was Meghan’s admission about the suicidal thoughts that she had, and that there were allegedly conversations had involving Archie’s skin tone. “William and Kate knew about some of their troubles with palace aides, but nothing to this extent,” the source explained, adding that William and Kate “feel that these conversations could have been made in private.” At this point, there is no word on whether or not William and Kate will try to reach out to Harry and Meghan in the coming days or weeks.

Buckingham Palace released a statement on March 9, 2021, following the interview (via CNN). The statement revealed that the “whole family is saddened” after hearing what Harry and Meghan had to say. The statement also noted, “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.” Per the statement, the comments are being “taken very seriously” and they reportedly “will be addressed by the family privately.”
