2021's Cutest New Jewelry Trend Is These Chunky, Colorful Rings

There was a time when thin, delicate gold jewelry and rings were *the* trend, but if Instagram has anything to say about it, that time is officially O-V-E-R. IDK about you, but my IG feed lately has been all about chunky and colorful rings made of resin, acrylic, enamel, and even glass, and the style is definitely bringing more life and maximalism into everyone’s jewelry boxes.

Celeb-fave brands like La Manso and BonBon Whims are leading the charge with their bright, hard-to-miss creations. (The latter Asian-owned brand released a ring that donates 50 percent of its proceeds to nonprofits, like the Asian-American Legal Defense Fund and Stop AAPI Hate.) New York City-based brand, Keane, also makes these thick, bulbous-like designs using hand-blown glass that almost resemble candy.

Kylie Jenner, Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa, Sofia Richie, Emma Chamberlain and more have gotten in on the trend, and just looking at all the bobbles on their fingers will instantly brighten your mood. It channels that Y2K nostalgia with its playfulness, and while pricier options exist, there are seriously tons more styles you can find at an accessible price range because it’s not usually categorized as fine jewelry.

So if you’re totally into the mood-boosting fad, I rounded up some styles below for you to peruse. The trend is practically made for Etsy sellers because it’s relatively easy to DIY with resin and rhinestones instead of metal and precious stones, but there are more $$ options if you want to go the designer route as well. Also, the appeal of delicate rings is that you can layer and stack them, but PSA! You can totally do that with these designs too. Pile ’em on and mix and match styles for a jewelry look this summer that’s just as extra as you are.
