Make some space in your underwear drawer, because lingerie brand Bluebella just dropped a limited-edition Pride collection with gorgeous lacy pieces in basically every color of the rainbow. It’s definitely the sexiest way to show your support this Pride Month, as 10% of the collection’s proceeds will go to OutRight Action International, a human rights organization that advocates for LGBTIQ people around the world.
Cosmopolitan chatted with RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Brooke Lynn Hytes and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, who model the new collection in Bluebella’s latest campaign and look hot as hell doing so. I meannnn, I’m obsessed:
“I love lingerie,” Vanjie tells Cosmo. “I love to be naked. I looked at the lingerie and I thought it was a good fit for me. I knew I was gonna look good, and I knew Brooke Lynn would look good in it.” Obviously, we’re inclined to agree.
Although Vanjie loves lingerie, the campaign was Brooke Lynn’s first time wearing it. “Literally, before the shoot, I can tell you I’ve never put lingerie on my body in my life. So I was surprised, I was like ‘Oh, I look kind of good in this!'”
The new line features some of Bluebella’s best-selling styles in a ton of vibrant colors. “I really like the colors,” says Brooke Lynn. “They really kind of have the whole color of the rainbow situation going on and they’re just really sexy.”
Fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race already know that Brooke Lynn and Vanjie dated in real life. However, they confirmed during the season 11 reunion that they had amicably gone their separate ways. While some of us might, um, not want to work on a lingerie campaign with an ex, Brooke Lynn and Vanjie both said they enjoyed working together on set.
“It was fun! Being with Brooke Lynn is always a lot of fun,” said Vanjie. “We’re just kiki-ing it and it doesn’t feel like work.”
Brooke Lynn agreed, saying, “It’s so much fun getting to work with Vanjie. We just giggle the whole time and laugh and have a good time. It’s really nice. We don’t get to see each other that often, so it’s always a treat.”
“I think it’s so great that they’re doing that,” says Brooke Lynn. “Any brand who is benefitting off of queer people and queer culture, especially around Pride Month, I think it’s just kind of a given that they should give some of that money back to the community that they’re benefitting from.”
Vanjie agrees, saying “I think it’s great to be a part of something so fabulous, and at the same time, to give back.”
You can shop the whole collection on Bluebella’s website now, with prices ranging from $24 to $64. Remember, this is a limited edition set, so you’ll def want to snag some pieces before they’re gone.
