Remembrance Sunday: Royals attend service at Cenotaph

The Queen is not in attendance at this year’s service as she has sprained her back, Buckingham Palace confirmed this morning. Her son, Prince Charles, lay the wreath on the Cenotaph on her behalf, as other royals stood by his side.

Most of the royals, as well as government officials, wore black for today’s event as a mark of respect.

Kate was seen standing beside Camilla and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, on the balcony overlooking the Cenotaph.

The Duchess opted for a black military style jacket with red shoulder lapels and a high-neck white collar.

Featuring silver buttons and a cinched-in waist, the jacket was designed by iconic British designer Alexander McQueen.
