I got charged £50 for a set of nails I absolutely hated – they curved and looked awful, I don’t know why I paid for them

A WOMAN who was given a terrible set of nails ended up paying £50 for them because she didn't want to "fight for my money".

Lolyn took to TikTok to share a video of the curved pink nails, which she insisted were exactly what she didn't want.

"I hated these nails sooooo much. Why are they curving please?" she wrote on the video.

"And of course I didn’t say anything and just paid the £50. I hate curved nails like ewww."

In a story time video on her TikTok page, Lolyn went into further details about what had happened, explaining that she'd gone to a new nail shop after moving to England from Scotland.

Once there, she told the nail techs that she wanted coffin-shaped nails, but added that they all spoke "minimal English".

"I’m trying to explain that I want coffin shape, and this lady next to me trying to explain coffin. and she was explaining it in a way, like narrow at the ends," Lolyn said.

And even the process of having the nails applied went wrong, as she continued: "And guys, I’m telling you, when she was putting this acrylic on my nails, my nails were hurting.

I dumped my man after searching his phone, what I found was worse than cheating

"Like my nail beds were on fire, burning – to the point where I was sore and I had to keep pulling my arm away."

She told the nail artist that it was hurting, but was told it was probably because she hadn't had her nails done for a while.

"So because she was saying it was ok I just thought maybe I’m sensitive today or something," she said.

"I just wasn’t listening to my body. Then another woman started doing my nails and I said, ‘Oh, they’re curving quite a bit to the front there.’

"I did mention it guys, just know I did mention it! I said, 'Can they be straight, I don’t like that. And she goes, ‘Yeah we’ll fix it'."

But the nails weren't fixed, and when Lolyn complained, she was given a £2 discount off the £52 price of the acrylics.

"I don’t like to argue so I wasn’t going to try and fight for my money – that’s not who I am," she sighed.

"The nails were £52. She took £2 off so I paid £50 – like a stupid idiot."

Lolyn was also told that if she wanted to have the nails removed, she'd have to come back another day as they were too busy.

So she was left with the talons for a whole fortnight, as she explained: "I was breaking my back for a whole two weeks.
