DUPES help you "fake it" when you can't pay the actual price of an item you want – and sometimes they're even better than the originals.
One bargain shopper tried Skims dupes from Shein, including one $9 seamless bodysuit, which turned out to be a bit see-through.
Jess McCarthy is one of YouTube's famed fashion fans known for her shopping hauls.
From one Paris fashion week vlog to a Zara try-on, Jess serves a bit of style content for everyone.
In a recent video, she puts several of Shein's Skims dupes to the test and finds one of them to be too revealing for her liking.
Jess tried Skims before but didn't allow herself to spend the money on it.

As an alternative for the Skims $48 Cotton Jersey T-Shirt, Jess puts on the $6 SHEIN BAE Solid Fitted Tee.
Jess admits that for the past week, she's washed and worn this shirt every day.
"It's so soft and so shaping," she explains.
"It's honestly the softest most buttery material I've ever put on my body. It gives your boobs a really nice lift as well."

Jess says that the black version of this shirt is the most see-through of all the color options.
"You can see a little bit of shaping, but that's the same for the Skims one as well," she explains.
"With some of the colors, I would say that the Shien dupes are a little bit more opaque. The Skims ones are more see-through."
Jess an XS in black, baby blue, dusty pink, and grey.
"It's also worth adding that these don't show sweat at all," she admits.
You can wear a bra underneath.
However, the shaping of it is visible because the material is thin.
These shirts are wash-proof, meaning they don't stretch or pull when you put them through the machine.
Next, Jess moves on to the seamless dress dupes.
Rather than spending $78 on the Skims Soft Lounge Slip Dress, Jess bought a couple of the $12 SHEIN BAE Solid Backless Bodycon Dress.
"Shein were not playing when they did these. They came, and they conquered," she admits.
"This one is stunning, and I will be adding it in more colors."
The dress snatches Jess's waist, and you can't see any underwear lines.
She does warn that if you're bloated, you will be able to see it.
Jess is 5'3", and the length fits perfectly.
She slips into the $9 SHEIN BAE Solid Backless Cami Bodysuit next.
The Shein bodysuit is a dupe for the Skims $58 Fits Everybody Cami Bodysuit.
"This material is absolutely to die for. It's staying up," Jess says.
While the material is the same as the T-shirt, the bodysuit is double-lined.
"These will go with absolutely anything," she admits.
"The fact that this is double-lined makes it feel so expensive."
Jess got the black, brown, white, and stone colors.
"To summarize my thoughts, I am absolutely gobsmacked by this collection," Jess proclaims.

She wrote: "Pop off girl. These were the best dupes!! The material looks so buttery and soft! Wow, that dress is giving and that brown bodysuit!"
