I was dubbed a ‘troubled teen’ on Supernanny – what it’s like behind the scenes and my real views on Jo Frost | The Sun

Earning the label 'America's Most Troubled Teen' is not something you necessarily want following you around for life.

But Amanda LoCascio had no choice as her naughty teen years were documented on the hit TV show Supernanny.

Amanda, now 28, appeared on the show when she was just 14, and made a name for herself as she disrespected her mum, Jen and stepdad, John, along with her sister, 13-year-old Abbey.

John and Jennifer Atkinson also had two daughters together, 4-year-old Reese and 2-1/2-year-old Maeve, and John had a daughter from a previous relationship, 10-year-old, Julia.

According to Amanda, the family initially called the show up as a joke, but five years later they got a phone call saying Supernanny was on her way to the Windy City – Chicago, and wanted to interview them.

She recalls that the show interviewed lots of families, but her's turned out to be the worst so Jo Frost was sent to sort them out.

She says: "Initially, when she first got to our house, she was super intense and super focused, like, took it very seriously.

"There' was no small talk, nothing."

The next day, however, it seemed Jo opened up more toward the family.

"The next day when we saw her she was so chilled, so funny, like we were laughing at s**t all the time," added Amanda.

"So I mean yeah, she takes her job really seriously.

"On day one she laid down the law, after that she told us what to do, told us what was best for us and just was so chill."

Although Amanda is happy to discuss the episode, she does admit it makes her so embarrassed watching it back and seeing her behaviour.

Amanda and her family went on the show to deal with her attitude towards her mum but she recently revealed that she had gotten over her teen angst and was now super close to her mum.

She also revealed that her behaviour did change for the most part and that the family dynamic definitely changed after Jo imparted her wisdom.

Amanda adds: "Jo is amazing, she helped our family in so many ways and we're all extremely grateful to have that experience."

One person wrote: "I loved your episode it’s the best."

Another commented: "OMG I recognised you immediately! My fav episode."

Someone else added: "Love that how you saw her is exactly how she is on camera day 1. Observe and then next days interact, intervene, teach."
