Most of us follow roughly the same cleaning routine every week. But according to one mum and cleaning enthusiast, there are some areas people tend to forget about – do you clean these on a regular basis?


Offering a helping hand, the self-proclaimed home hacks queen, Carolina McCauley, from Western Australia, took to Instagram to list the three places.

According to Carolina, who's amassed more than 2.4million followers on her social media account, you've probably not paid much attention to your dishwasher.

To give it a much-needed makeover, pour some vinegar into a cup and place it inside an empty dishwasher.

One quick cycle later, the inside of the appliance should be sparkling clean – and you didn't even need to scrub.

Just as important, she revealed in her video, is taking care of your washing machine.

Just like with the dishwasher, Carolina recommended adding vinegar to the detergent tray, ensuring it's completely full.

Once done, run on a quick cycle and voila, it's like brand new.

The savvy mum also shared a nifty loo roll hack for those difficult-to-reach areas under sliding doors.

To remove any dirt and dust from the tiny crevices, squeeze the toilet roll and attach it to your vacuum.

The rest is pretty straightforward – simply proceed to vacuum as normal and the loo roll will pick up any debris.
