I’m a female teacher – I revealed my ‘toxic trait’ and people say it’s ‘spicy’ | The Sun

EVEN though teachers are known for being patient, kind, and understanding, they're only human.

One first-grade teacher shared her "toxic trait" online and fascinated followers with her confession.

The daring teacher, Sydnee Larsen (@mrslarsenslittles), decided to get real with her fans on TikTok.

In a video, she introduced the world to her sassiest habit, but she also learned she's not alone.

Larsen responded to a prompt that encouraged educators to introduce themselves as their "toxic teacher traits."

Larsen stepped onscreen, waved hello, and introduced herself.

Her toxic trait?"Giving my students attitude back after they give me attitude," she wrote.

Larsen confessed in the video description that she "just can't help" herself sometimes.

Other teachers were quick to chime in, saying they also shared the same trait.

"Toxic? I like to say 'spicy,'" a fellow teacher wrote.

Her explanation made the difference perfectly clear. "It's not for everyone but you won't die," she joked.

"It's not toxic, it's survival," another woman said.

Some teachers admitted to being surprised by their own attitudes.

"When I started teaching, I said I wouldn't do this," one woman wrote. But now? "I definitely do this," she confessed.

The sass was even strong amongst middle school and high school teachers.

One said she tells her students, "Don't play games you won't win" and sasses them back "ten times worse."

Despite complaints of ill-mannered and downright rude students, the chatter was all in good fun.

"Matching energy is my life," a teacher said. "Kids love it but you've gotta make sure they can handle it first."

And another explained exactly where the limit should be.
