LOOKING good can take a lot of work, with many people spending hours sitting in front of a mirror doing their hair and makeup.
But thanks to this hilarious TikTok trend, we now know we’re not alone in our accidental catfishing.
That's right, women are taking to the social media platform to share their most glamorous selfies, in comparison to how they look without the glam, in the new viral ‘Catfish challenge’.
One woman, MaKayla MaShelle, took to YouTube to share her catfish challenge.
She uploaded her video with the caption ‘How to Catfish on Insta & Look Expensive!’
While we all want to look fabulous, but if you aren’t a makeup expert or haven’t got access to endless funds to spend on designer products, that’s where MaKayla comes to the rescue.

At the start of the video we see her with her hair in rollers and a bare-face.
She explains: “My skin has not been too nice to me and it’s been acting crazy.
“When my skin isn’t at its best I think my makeup doesn’t come out as cute.”
MaKayla starts her makeup routine with primer and then does her eyebrows.

While many people do their foundation prior to their eyebrows, MaKayla explained that she always does them first.
She said: “My strength is in doing my eyebrows first, I can’t do them last.”

Once she has drawn her eyebrows on, she uses a liquid concealer to really make them pop.
Then she uses an eyeshadow pallet to create a neutral look.
She demonstrates: “We’re going to create an eyeliner flick with the eyeshadow.
“It’s a very neutral look but it’s giving me that fox eye look”.
She then glues on large false eyelashes to really enlarge her eyes.
Following this, MaKayla applies foundation to her face, adds concealer under her eyes to conceal dark circles and then sets her makeup with a Huda Beauty powder.
To shizzle her cheekbones, she adds cream contour and explains: “You don’t need a lot of this”.
MaKayla blends the cream contour with an angled bush as she advises: “I’m going to flick the product up and bring it down just a little bit”.
She follows this with a powder bronzer and finishes her face with highlighter.
MaKayla explains: “This is acting as a transition because the contour is a bit harsh, not going to lie to any of you, but we’re going to keep rolling with it.”
She then lines her lips with lip liner and applies lip gloss.
To finish her face, she sprays a setting mist and uses a beauty blender to “push the product in”.
We think MaKayla looks great with and without the makeup but at the end of the video we see MaKayla’s finished look – a full face of glam makeup and a full head of curly hair.
MaKayla’s video has clearly impressed many, as her video has racked up 27,646 views.
One person said: “Girl you are drop dead gorgeous either way “.
Another added: “This girl said catfish like she’s not already so cute.”
