THERE'S nothing better than picking up a Greggs sausage roll while shopping on the high street.
But now, you can experience it while fine dining – although not everyone seems impressed by the idea.
Greggs announced it would be creating a Bistro restaurant in partnership with the luxe department store Fenwick for Christmas.
The fine dining French-style eatery will open in Newcastle and will serve a range of Greggs' most popular bakes with a twist.
Steak Bakes will take on new heights with truffled creamy dauphinoise potatoes, green beans and a sprinkling of almonds.
You can also enjoy a jam doughnut inspired cocktail, the Pink Jammie Fizz, for £9.50 in the pop-up diner.

The a-la-carte menu will allow you to dine on white clothed tables pairing your favourite Festive Bake with duck-fat roast potatoes, smoked pancetta, chestnuts and sprouts with lashings of gravy.
The concept behind Bistro Greggs is to "elevate” your favourite high street pastry to “verge on the decadent”, says Fenwick’s executive head chef, Mark Reid.
Gone are the days of sitting on the wooden chairs in Greggs, instead offering you to relax in velvet banquettes while you scoff down a vegan sausage roll.
Waiters will be expected to wear Bistro Greggs aprons with tradition white shirts and ties – really elevating your usual high-street drop in.

As well as serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, there will also be high tea available.
This will include three tiers of Sausage Rolls, Cheese and Bean Melts, Yum Yums and more.
It makes sense that the pop-up eatery will open in Newcastle's Fenwick store as it was the first place Greggs ever opened a bakery and has become a staple for the area.
The restaurant will be opening it's doors on Friday, but it seems many social media users aren't happy with the idea.
High Life North reported the opening of the flashy restaurant on social media @high_life_north and it seemed to spark outrage in the comments.
Many claimed that the bistro was an attack on the working class as a way to just rake the prices up.
One person wrote: "That’s just a hate crime isn’t it tho."
Another commented: "Made by the poor stolen by the rich."
"They gentrified Greggs," penned a third.
Others seemed to love the idea of the novelty bistro and wanted to check it out.
Meanwhile a fourth said: "Posh Greggs date?"
"Make sure you're free, we need to go,” claimed a fifth.
