I’ve been bra-free for seven years – I've saved so much money but I get nasty stares from women of a certain age | The Sun

A WOMAN who went bra-free years ago, says it has saved her money, but also attracted a lot of judgment too.

Despite the condemnation of others, she will not be turning the clock back.

For her, bras have been consigned to the trash can and are unlikely to make a return to her wardrobe anytime soon

Verastielstraphotography (@Verastielstraphotography) is the first to admit she doesn't have big boobs, but she loves the feeling of empowerment that comes with being bra-free.

In her post to TikTok this Dutch photographer shared some of her experiences since taking the plunge and ditching breast support seven years ago.

“Even though I have a cup B or C maybe," she said, "I don’t have that big boobs. So if you have bigger boobs, this might be different for you," she admitted.

Get used to people looking, she warned: “First thing I’ve learned is that the nastiest stares come from women probably around fifty. They look at you and they’re like, ‘Girl.'"

But she's cool with it: "I don't care," she said.

Initially, it might be a bit painful she cautioned: “In the beginning, your nips might hurt quite a bit. But after a while, that stops and you get used to it."

Less talked about are the savings that can be made going braless: “I save a lot of money on bras," she confided.

"You don’t ever have to buy a bra. It’s great."

There was a proviso with this: "But you do have to bear in mind if it is warm and you want to take your top off, don't. You’re naked under there."

For her, it has been a positive experience, and she enjoys being free of constricting wires and straps.

"I’m super comfy," she said. "So if you are thinking of going braless, I would totally recommend it. It made my life way more comfortable."

Comments to her post loved her positive attitude.

“I love your approach," said one follower. "Show nature and feel happy.”

Finally, this fan advised ignoring the haters: “Love it. Don't worry about those judgemental women.”
