Kate Middleton stepped out in the City of London wearing a brand new “women’s peak shoulder leaf crepe jacket in light ivory” from Alexander McQueen which costs a sensational £1,490. The Princess of Wales previously wore the pink version of this jacket in 2022, but this is a brand new ivory version of the blazer for the royal.
Kate has worn many white blazers from Alexander McQueen before, for instance, the Princess owns a white tailored blazer by Alexander Mcqueen.
This was first worn in Jamaica during the March 2022 Caribbean Tour. This jacket looks almost identical to the one Kate wore on Tuesday, except that one was a slightly off-white colour.
Kate even re-wore her white tailored blazer at London’s Waterloo Station to see the National Windrush Monument unveiled last year, and then again at the ELEVATE charity in Brixton.
Many fans have wondered why the Princess bought a new Alexander McQueen jacket, despite owning many jackets already in that colour.
For example, Instagram user @natalie.nmn said: “Lovely but she must love those blazers. Having almost seven blazers of similar style in different colours is the next level of loving something.”
Similarly, @farah_lou commented: “She already has an almost identical Alexander McQueen blazer – why get a new £2,000 one?
“It honestly baffles me. I love the outfit but I just can’t justify this price tag.”
Royal fan @clairekl2 agreed: “It’s so bizarre to buy two almost identical blazers. I hate when she does this.

“She shouldn’t be wearing new pieces every single event, so when she does debut a new piece, it should really look different.
“This is the worst of both worlds. She’s spending a bunch of money, but it’s not fun to see what she’s wearing because it looks like a repeat.”
Royal watcher @birdnerd327 noted: “Initially I was thinking, ‘Oh it’s nice to see one of her white blazers repeated’, but you’re right it does appear more cream than white.”
Instagram user @marchionessofconfessions wrote: “A blazer is the perfect definition of a business meeting.
“Even so, I find it somewhat ‘strange’ (as she is very used to making these types of choices) that she has bought a new blazer in cream when she already has the same one but in white. Technically it would have worked just as well.”
However, @limonelemons loved Kate’s style on Tuesday and said: “Catherine can have as many blazers as she wants and she always looks amazing in them.”
Royal fan @sarah_o_kay added: “The well-tailored coat, the blowout, the skinny trousers and pumps! This is her style, she looks comfortable and confident and she looks good in it.”
One royal watcher, @ellainthecityboston commented: “Very chic and a great spring refresh. Adore the earrings!”
Royal fan @ellehart94 opined: “I’m beginning to think that she revamped her entire wardrobe for her new title/role.”
After Queen Elizabeth II died, Kate became the Princess of Wales after formerly being known as the Duchess of Cambridge.
As her husband, Prince William, now owns the Duchy of Cornwall, it means the couple will now have a higher budget for clothes, which King Charles used to provide for the couple when he was the Prince of Wales.
Therefore, it might be the case that Kate will wear more new purchases now as the Princess of Wales, as opposed to repeats and recycled outfits.
