Meghan Markle latest news – Sussexes wanted for Emmy awards ceremony as Meg set 'to share Lilibet pic' on her birthday

EMMY awards bosses want Prince Harry and wife Meghan to make their Hollywood debuts at the ceremony next month.

TV execs are keen for the pair to attend the A-list event in downtown LA.

They may even try to persuade the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to present an award, insiders say.

Meghan could also share a family photo with Lilibet to mark the day in what would be the first glimpse of the eighth-in-line to the throne, royal experts have claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry welcomed their daughter into the world on June 4 but the newborn baby is yet to be seen.

    A PIECE OF CAKE

Prince Harry has pulled out all the stops and ordered a bespoke birthday cake for Meghan Markle’s 40th.

The posh bakery can charge anywhere from £160 plus for cakes, with their spciality being ‘naked’ cakes where some of the cake’s layers are visible underneath the icing.

Before the showstopper will make its appearance, it’s reported that guests will enjoy “grazing tables” with locally sourced foods and wines.

The guest list for her birthday has yet to be fully revealed, but it is expected that her mum Doria and close pal Oprah will be there.

In an explosive interview earlier this year, the Duchesses dad criticized the couple’s “bad behavior” and the effect it has had on raising their son Archie and newborn girl Lilibet.

The former Hollywood lighting director has yet to meet his two grandkids.

FIRST GLIMPSE OF LILIBET ON THE HORIZON

MEGHAN Markle could share a family photo with Lilibet to mark the proud mum’s 40th birthday in what would be the first glimpse of the eighth-in-line to the throne, royal experts have claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry welcomed their daughter into the world on June 4 but the newborn baby is yet to be seen.

While working members of the Royal Family, Meghan and Harry posed with their son Archie a few days after he was born, gushing over their son’s arrival.

But royal fans are still waiting to catch a glimpse of little Lilibet, more than eight weeks since her birth on June 4.

Now royal experts have claimed Meghan’s 40th birthday tomorrow could provide the perfect opportunity for the proud parents to share an updated family photo.

Royal commentator Phil Dampier told The Sun Online: “I think it’s likely we will see a picture of the family.”

MEGHAN’S FAMILY WON’T BE SENDING HER BIRTHDAY PRESENTS AS RIFT CONTINUES, AUTHOR SAYS

The Duchess of Sussex celebrates her 40th birthday tomorrow, but it’s feared her party guest list will snub the Markle family – including her estranged dad.

Meghan has not seen her father for years, last speaking to him around the time of her wedding to Harry in 2018.

As the divide has continued to widen, Thomas recently revealed that he no longer even has his daughter’s phone number – and it’s highly unlikely he will be invited to the duchess’ birthday celebrations tomorrow.

Tom Bower, who is currently writing a tell-all book on the duchess, said: “The Sussexes’ celebrity neighbours, agents, lawyers and PR spin doctors will flock to their Montecito haven.

“But there will be no birthday cards from Meghan’s father and siblings, nor probably from her in-laws in London.

Shunned Thomas, who lives in Mexico, has not had any contact with his duchess daughter for three years, and he has never met her husband Harry, or their two tots, Archie and Lilibet.

They may even try to persuade the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to present an award, insiders say.

It comes with chat show queen Oprah Winfrey the clear bookies’ favourite to take home the award for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special Emmy for her bombshell interview with the royal outsiders.

An LA TV source told The Sun: “The Sussexes are in high demand — it would be their first red carpet appearance since Megxit and their full-time Californian move.

“Oprah is planning to attend the night, which could help get them there."

    A RECAP: OPRAH’S INTERVIEW

The bombshell interview was televised in the UK on the 8 March this year. While many viewers passed Ofcom complaints and voiced their fury, Oprah insisted Meghan Markle was “truthful” in her interview and that she didn’t realise the “racist” claims would be so impactful.

In the revealing chat aired in March, Meghan told how her mental health had suffered during her time as a working royal – and she felt suicidal while pregnant with Archie.

Meanwhile, Harry said his dad and brother were “trapped” in the Royal firm and that one member of the Royal Family had probed the duke about his unborn son and what colour his skin would be.

IS IT LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT?

When it comes to remembering about matters close to the heart, Kate Middleton is quick to recall her awkward first meeting with Prince William… but he can’t remember it!

The Duchess admitted that when she met Wills for the first time at university in St Andrews in Scotland – her reaction was less than cool.

“I actually went bright red when I met you and scuttled off feeling very shy about meeting you,” she said.

Although it wasn’t quite love at first sight as the two became good friends before dating, William admitted he and Kate, “did split up for a bit. We were both very young, it was at university and we were both finding ourselves and being different characters and stuff.”

However, all that starts well ends well as Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot in 2011 after eight years together.

They celebrated 10 years together in April this year.

BLOOM HITS BACK AT COMPLAINTS ABOUT HBO’S THE PRINCE MOCKING ROYAL FAMILY

ORLANDO Bloom has hit back at scathing criticism of his new TV series The Prince, which has been branded "shameful" for its portrayal of the Royal Family.

The satire hit HBO Max last month, with the Pirates Of The Caribbean actor, 44, playing the role of Prince Harry.

The show's 12 episodes are in cartoon form but already attracted hugely negative publicity for their portrayal of the late Prince Philip, and his failing health before his death.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the Brit said: "I hadn’t met [Prince Harry] when I signed up to do it, and I subsequently met him and he’s such a nice guy.

"This guy is so nice, and I think he’s got a great sense of humour.

"I hope he maintains that through this because they’re sort of on a pedestal.

"We’re showing real adoration to them in one form or another. I try to justify it, because quite frankly, if I’m honest, it’s not like me to poke fun at anyone but it is done with affection.

"When I was in my mid-20s, there was so many different people poking fun at me and, in a way, it’s a sign of appreciation."

PRINCE WILLIAM AND KATE MIDDLETON’S ‘CONCERNS’ ABOUT PRINCE GEORGE GROWING UP IN SPOTLIGHT

While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spend a lot of time in front of the cameras, it’s their children that often steal the limelight.

As their children are growing up and becoming more of a focus for the paparazzi, the parents are concerned about online trolls. George’s appearance at the Euro final with his parents sparked a wave of online trolling.

“He’s growing up in a different era to his parents. Times have changed since then. There wasn’t social media or internet trolls when William and Kate were children.”

“The Cambridges feel it’s necessary to shield George, Charlotte and Louis from the spotlight and have become cautious about the appearances [they] make. Kate and William are being more selective about the events he attends.”
