A MOTHER and criminologist has issued an urgent warning for parents, to ensure your kids are kept safe this summer.

So if you are lucky enough to be going on holiday this summer, or maybe you’ve even got your own pool in your garden, you’ll need to listen up quickly.


Dannah Eve shared her advice to ensure your kids are kept safe when in a swimming pool and according to this parent – it all comes down to the colour of their swimwear.

Dannah took to TikTok to share her parental advice, as she posted her clip with the caption ‘PSA FOR ALL PARENTS.’

Sharing her “summer safety tip,” she said: “Since summer is approaching, here is a safety tip that all parents should keep in mind.

“Never buy blue bathing suits for your children.

“It makes them much harder to see when they’re in the water, and god forbid that something happens, you don’t want them blending in with the pool.

“Loud colours like a hot pink or a red will make it much easier to keep an eye on your child.

“This is the scariest thing to even think about but drowning is a silent killer, so a lot of the time the child falls into the pool and you hear nothing.

“So if you’re with your friends and your kids are swimming in the pool, it’s not a bad idea to designate one adult and their only job is to watch the children in the pool.

“And make sure that you’re watching your pets as well.

“Unfortunately, a disaster can happen, only in a matter of seconds.

“I have a degree in Criminology and Psychology and I share daily safety tips to help you guys out.

“As always, stay safe out there.” 

Dannah’s clip has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 35,300 views.

It has 3,833 likes, 57 comments, 301 saves and 84 shares.

Many parents were extremely thankful for the advice and were eager to share this in the comments. 

One person said: “Such a good tip! My favourite colour is blue so I always go for that colour first when it comes to my kid. Now I won’t! Thank you!”

Another added: “You are really my favourite one here on tiktok. I follow literally all your advice. Thanks for being here.”

A third commented: “Thank you!”

At the same time, many were keen to share their safety tips in the comments.

One user posted: “Pro tip for kids: Take a deep breath & hold it. Don't scream. Your lungs are like huge balloons & you'll float to the surface. From a SCUBA diver dad.” 

A second chimed in: “If you’re drowning (it might not work for everyone) get into a star shape, it helps you float.”
