My 7p hack makes your toilet smell lush and gets rid of limescale – it will also save you cash too | The Sun

A THRIFTY cleaning whizz has shared how you can make your toilet smell fabulous thanks to an easy trick that costs just pennies.

Although toilet rim blocks aren't usually pricey, it's another expense that adds up over time – but what if there was a cheaper alternative?

Well, according to one cash-savvy cleaning enthusiast, only known as @tiger_lee_uk on TikTok, you can make your own loo block for spare change – and it's so simple to do as well.

Rather than chucking out the older container once the liquid's run out, the cleaning fanatic advised to open it and fill with a common laundry essential.

In their video, Tiger Lee opted to pour in dozens of scent booster beads, in total what appeared to be roughly a cup of the container.

Once done, simply place the scented block as you normally would – and emjoy the refreshing scent filling the bathroom whenever you flush the water.

''I never buy toilet block since I learned to do it myself,'' the cleaning whizz praised the hack in the caption.

''DIY block that saves you money.''

However, whilst Tiger Lee may swear by the trick, not everyone on social media would be racing to give it a go, as a number of critics were rather sceptical.

One person was convinced: ''That works out more expensive than replacing the block.''

Whilst you're cleaning the bathroom, don't forget to try out two easy hacks to wash away grim limescale – and there's no vigorous scrubbing involved.

White vinegar

Cheap and natural, this cupboard essential has become all the rage in the cleaning community – and rightly so.

To tacklet gross toilet limescale, you will need to pour white vinegar into the loo – ideally before you go to bed, so it can work its magic overnight.

The next morning, use a toilet brush to remove limescale deposits that are still there, before flushing the toilet to wash it away.

Cola

Cola – as totally bonkers as it may sound, a bit of Cola can also work wonders in your toilet duo to its acidic contents.

For banishing limescaler, simply pour a bottle around the rim of the toilet bowl and let it sit for a while.

Flush and the acid in the cola will loosen the limescale and wash away. Repeat until all the limescale has gone.
