WHEN it comes to baby names, some parents prefer traditional monikers, while others opt for more unique alternatives.
But no matter what name you settle on, the likeliness is not everyone is going to be a fan – especially when you deliberately choose something out of the ordinary.
Taking to Reddit, one anonymous new mum, from the UK, asked social forum users whether they had ever experienced a family member having a problem with the baby name they'd picked.
She then proceeded to share a screenshot of a conversation with a relative which showed how after a 1 minute 27 second video chat, the call abruptly ended.
It seemed that the person on the other end of the phone had suddenly hung up the phone.

The confused mother then text and informed her relatives she had decided to rename her baby daughter Nixie Analynn – but the response wasn't what she was expecting.
Instead, the family member responded: "Personally I don't care for it, but it is your baby and your choice."
Defending the unique choice of name, she replied: "I like it, it's unique. I think she likes it too."

However, it wasn't long before social media users took to the comments section to give their opinions – and most responses were in support of the family member.
"Nixie is bad enough but ANAL-in?" wrote one.
Another agreed: "First thing I saw. At least it’s not the first name!"
Meanwhile, a third commented: "Kinda sounds like an adult film star name," while a fourth penned: "As a teacher, all I can think when I see these is that I’m going to have to call some poor kid that in a few years."
Elsewhere, others took issue with the first name, Nixie – and suggested it sounded more like a pet's name.
"My aunt's dog was Nixie it was cute for a dog," wrote one.
A second added: "NIXIE IS THE NAME OF MY ADOPTED CAT."
