A SAVVY man has discovered an item on the secret menu for McDonald’s and it’s blowing minds everywhere. 

Dustin Hadley, also known as @That40yearguy, often uses his social media account to share different facts, hacks and tips he previously didn’t know. 

And after seeing someone bag themselves an entire birthday cake from the popular fast food chain, he decided to put it to the test himself. 

“Ain’t no way,” he wrote with a mind blown emoji.

Dressed in a red hoodie with a baseball cap on his head, he then complained: “You’re telling me that for 40 years I could’ve been doing this? Ain’t no way…” 

He then jumped in his car and drove to the nearest McDonald’s to try it out for himself.

“The moment of truth has arrived,” he told viewers. “Let’s see if it’s true or not…” 

Rolling down the window, a voice could be heard asking him: “Go ahead,” to which he responded: “Can I get a birthday cake?” 

She responded: “Umm, let me ask the manager…” 

The woman then returned to share: “Yes, we can do that,” to which he replied: “Alright, awesome. I want one birthday cake. Thank you.”

When he drove up to the window, the woman explained to him that no one had ever asked for a birthday cake at that branch before. 

And someone else in the background could be heard saying: “That’s it right there? Really? A birthday cake is like $29 (£23.24)?” 

When the cake was finally handed over, he asked them: “You don’t know if it’s upside down or not? And was it frozen?” to which they responded: “Yes.” 

Once TikTok user @that40yearguy returned home, he decided to open it up to show viewers exactly what it looks like. 

He first ripped the plastic packaging off before opening the cardboard box. 

Inside, there was a white birthday cake, which had a lettering on it that read: “It’s time to party” in pink. 

He then tasted it with a fork, explaining that it was chocolate and was “pretty good”. 

While it is possible to get a birthday cake from the fast food chain, it appears to be a secret menu item only available in the US. 

It means that before you pay £23.24 for the cake itself, you’ll have to fork out for a plane ticket first. 

People were quick to comment on the post as one person wrote: “So if nobody has ever asked for one before, how long has it been sitting there?” 

A second questioned: “An expiration date on there? Curious how long it’s been sitting if they have never heard that order before?” 

He replied: “Expiration date was Sept 2023”. 

Another said: “Do I need or even want a McDonalds Birthday cake for lunch tomorrow? No. Am I going to get one? Yes.” 

A fourth shared: “I had a birthday party at McDonald’s when I was 8 and the cake looked exactly like this. That was 32 years ago.” 

And another said: “Whaaat??? Omg gotta try it,” to which he replied: “I’d call your local McDonald’s first. I don’t think they all do it”.
