Maxima of the Netherland, 50, visited an art exhibit dedicated to the Mexican painter in Assen, the Netherlands. For the occasion, she opted for a very colourful and vibrant look.

Maxima is the Queen of the Netherlands and wife of King Willem-Alexander.

The Dutch royal looked beautiful as she attended the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the Mexican painter.

Queen Maxima channelled Frida Kahlo wearing a colourful dress and headpiece.

She opted for a fuchsia long sleeve top which she paired with a white skirt decorated with purple flowers.

The royal combined it with a white clutch and fuchsia high heels.

Queen Maxima finished the look with a blue and pink floral headpiece.

She was also seen holding a flower arrangement which she carried during the whole event.

For the occasion, she opted for natural makeup and a smokey eye.

She combined her vibrant look with large, purple earrings and some gold and silver bracelets.

The Dutch royal styled her blonde hair in a messy but effortlessly chic bun.

Queen Maxima suffered a fracture during the summer and was seen wearing a splint on her right hand.

The beautiful royal was all smiles as she talked to fans after the exhibition.

Many fans took to social media to comment on the royal’s fashion choice.

Twitter user Pamela Marie said: “She is the embodiment of ‘It’s good to be the Queen!’ She’s a ray of sunshine whenever I see her photo.”

Another social media user called Anastasia commented: “Elegant!”

Another fan, Angela Caballero, said: “Gorgeous and always very elegant!”

“A natural beauty,” Instagram user Mario Merino commented.

“Spectacular!” said fan Francisca Lopez while Laura Adamovsky commented: “She’s the prettiest!”

From autumn this year, the museum in the Netherlands will be dedicated to Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Maxima is a fan of the artist and attended the world premiere of Frida at Dutch National Opera & Ballet in Amsterdam last year.
