Will Camilla wear a crown at the coronation?

Yes, Camilla, the Queen Consort will wear a crown at the coronation.

In the scaled back event, Camilla is not having a new crown.

On February 14, 2023, Buckingham Palace revealed that it will be the first time in recent history that an existing crown will be used for a consort.

It's a move made in the "interests of sustainability and efficiency," the palace said.

Which crown will Queen Camilla wear?

Buckingham Palace confirmed Camilla will be wearing a crown made by Garrard for Queen Mary, who was also a Queen Consort and was coronated alongside King George V in 1911.

The crown has been removed from display at the Tower of London as it is being altered by the Crown Jeweller.

There will be additional jewels incorporated that pay homage to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The Palace also confirmed the additions will include the Cullinan III, IV and V diamonds – all of which were part of Queen Elizabeth II's personal jewellery collection.

The Koh-i-noor diamond will not be featured in the updated crown.

In addition, four of the Crown’s eight detachable arches will be removed in order to create a different impression of the crown worn by Queen Mary at the 1911 Coronation. 

Which crown will King Charles wear?

King Charles III will wear the St Edward's Crown when he is officially declared as the King during his coronation.

This will be the only time that Charles will wear this particular crown.

This crown is traditionally worn by monarchs when they are crowned and was worn by the late Queen Elizabeth at her coronation in 1953. 

Made of solid gold, it contains 444 gemstones, including rubies, sapphires, garnets, and tourmalines.

King Charles will wear the Imperial State Crown as he leaves Westminster Abbey, after the Coronation ceremony.
