Two Harrier jump jets collided at 8,000 feet above the town of Wisbech in Cambridgeshire, killing two men and a young boy.

One crashed into a field but debris from the other fell onto two houses and
a bungalow.

An inquiry found the pilots were engaged in a mock dogfight at the time of the collision.

Somalian terrorists attacked the upmarket Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi, Kenya, killing 67.

The al-Shabaab jihadists claimed the massacre was in revenge for the Kenyan Government’s military involvement in their country.

The atrocity followed UN warnings about the potential for an attack.
