There are plenty of astrological transits and events happening this April.

Lining up your tasks, priorities and to-do list with the relevant cosmic energy influences is a shortcut to getting a quick and easy boost.

Here are the key dates for your diary – including Full and New Moons, planetary transits, and the dreaded Mercury retrograde – as well as what they mean for you.

April 3 – Mercury in Taurus

You have until June 11 to get conversations about your roots, stability, money and home out of the way – the tricky stuff you need agreement or feedback on.

Don’t put it off. Be clear, direct, and honest. Listen well. Come to compromises and resolutions that are sustainable and everyone can live with.

If you need a raise or promotion, talk about it now.

April 6 – Full Moon in Libra

Reflect on your relationship dynamics, tensions, connections, and power balances.

Are they balanced and equal? Are there people you feel overwhelmed or intimidated by and can you correct this? Are there people you tend to lord it over and maybe browbeat round to your way of doing things?

Seek to redress any imbalances, but notice the dynamics first.

April 11 – Venus in Gemini

Venus is all about our relationships, pleasure and money. Gemini is the trickster, the Loki, the Hermes of the zodiac. Full of ideas, messages, games, and fun.

Bring a little play and intrigue to your relationships, put some imagination into your outings or activities together. Have fun being silly, or fanciful, or pretending to be someone else! Shape shifting season is here.

April 19 – New Moon in Aries (annular total eclipse)

The second New Moon in Aries and an eclipse!

This New Moon asks us to prioritise, lose the dead wood and dead weight and reinvent ourselves to the version of us that can really truly achieve the ambitions we hold dearest. We need to change if we’re to succeed. Actively look at ways of doing that and of focusing on the right thing right now.

April 20 – Taurus season starts

Taurus, the bull, ruled by Venus, Earth element, fixed sign. A sign associated with strength, steadfastness, pleasure, love, indulgence.

Taurus works hard and plays hard too. Taurus is interested in earthly, material and tangible pleasures and like to kick back and enjoy themselves. Use it to indulge yourself in things you alone love doing, to heck with everyone else!

April 22 – Mercury Retrograde

Put a little hold, or extra eye of caution, over any dealings to do with business, travel, or communication from now until May 15.

Mercury Retrograde can be a tricky time for these areas as the planet’s energy flows the wrong way. Just make sure you have a Plan B!

April 27 – First quarter Moon in Leo

This is a day to be playful, childlike, carefree, and affectionate.

Travel back to your childhood and Memory Lane and enjoy doing things you once held in great esteem. Get out the photo albums, call up old pals, go and visit your old school or play area or home. Revel in your life story.
