He has left many people on the web stunned over how much their lives resemble those of any other normal teen

While Johnny has yet to explain how he is able to use a cell phone, since it is not common for Amish people to have access to social media and the internet, he did reveal on his YouTube account that he briefly left the Amish community last year, so that could be where he obtained the device.

Now, Johnny – who works in roofing – uses his phone to give others an intimate behind-the-scenes look into the unconventional lifestyle.

Some of his videos feature him riding around in his horse and buggy, working, or fishing, while others show himself and his friends smoking cigarettes or drinking beers together.

‘Here’s a little look of Amish teens living it up,’ he captioned one TikTok, which saw Johnny and some others sipping on Bud Lights together.

In the video, the women could be seen wearing long, old-fashioned blue dresses with white aprons and headpieces, while the guys donned black dress pants and tucked-in button-down tops.

Another TikTok showed Johnny and his girlfriend, TLC star Rosanna Miller, posing together as she gave the camera her middle finger.

In a third video, he addressed rumors that he wasn’t Amish since he uses a cellphone.

In it, he showed off an immense stash of jars food that he had stored in his home – a common practice by Amish people – as well as some of the laundry that was hung on the clothes line in his garage to dry.

A different user commented: ‘I had no idea the Amish turn up like that.’

‘I don’t think people realize that the Amish party hard during Rumspringa,’ another user explained. ‘Be safe out there kiddos.’

When Amish people turn 16, they enter a period known as Rumspringa, which, according to Ohio’s Amish Country, is a time when ‘they are no longer under the total control of their parents on weekends and, because they are not baptized, they are not yet under the authority of the church.’

No using modern technology and always wear plain clothing: Inside the Amish beliefs and traditions

Amish believe that God has called them to a simple life of faith, discipline, dedication and humility. They are known for not using any modern technology, dressing in old-fashioned clothes, and even opting for a horse and buggy to get around. There are seven basic principles that the Amish follow:

  • Baptism is only performed during adulthood after a confession of faith. This is because children do not have the knowledge of good and evil, so they can’t benefit from baptism.
  • Members who sinned are warned twice in private. In the third instance, they will be notified publicly and banned from the group for good.
  • Only baptized adults are allowed to attend the Lord’s Supper.
  • Leaders in the church are known as shepherds, and they all must be of good character.
  • They reject violence, even if it means separating themselves from society.
  • Because the rest of the world and politics are seen as corrupt, they do not participate in public office or civil affairs.
  • Because words are not sufficient, members do not give promises.
