Asda shoppers can book Christmas delivery slots from today – how to get one | The Sun

ASDA shoppers can start getting ready for the festive season as food delivery slots open today.

Christmas bookings for getting food to your doorstep are usually snapped up fast so now is a good time to get your skates on.

Asda has opened its Christmas delivery booking system to all customers from October 25.

It comes after the supermarket opened up slots to its delivery pass customers last week.

Asda offers delivery passes so customers who order online don’t have to pay for each individual drop-off of groceries to their door.

Asda also has different levels of pass – it's £6.50 for a monthly anytime pass or £65 for the year.

The slots for all can now be booked on the supermarket's website – so get in there quick.

Customers can place an order for any amount.

But, you will pay an additional £3 as a minimum basket charge if the value of the goods in your basket comes to less than £40 for delivery orders.

Customers without a delivery pass will also be charged a delivery fee on top and the cost of the delivery varies on the time of day and day of the week.

If you don't already have an Asda grocery account, new customers will need to set one up online before they can book a delivery slot.

Once booked you should be given a final deadline as to when you can no longer edit the products in your order – so keep a note of this.

Asda says there will be more than one million home delivery and click-and-collect slots available the week before Christmas.

And this year, Asda is offering a home delivery service on Christmas Eve for the first time.

The supermarket giant said the service will be available in all 633 stores, and the last slots will be between 3pm and 4pm.

Asda will also be operating delivery services from a limited number of stores on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

And customers have until December 15 to make any food to order bookings.

Asda has already revealed its Christmas menu, featuring chocolate bowls you can eat and giant mince pies.

Have other supermarkets opened their Christmas delivery slots?

Most other supermarkets haven't opened for Christmas delivery bookings yet, and many are yet to confirm when slots will be available.

It comes after Sainsbury's opened their Christmas delivery slots for all customers from October 24.

Morrisons and posh supermarket Ocado have also opened up delivery slots to their delivery pass customers but are yet to announce when they will be open for all.

Tesco is yet to confirm when its Christmas delivery slots will be released, but last year, shoppers were able to bag themselves a delivery slot from 6am on November 16.

Aldi launched its Christmas click and collect slots to shoppers in November last year.

The discount supermarket is yet to reveal this year's key dates.
