A 28 STONE teacher who felt ashamed while giving kids lessons on healthy eating has lost more than half her body weight.
Nygarie Long, 33, used to scoff boxes of chocolates and biscuits – but would then explain to her pupils the benefits of eating healthy amounts of fresh fruit and vegetables.
Deputy Head Nygarie said: "I felt such a hypocrite and a bad example to the children.
"There I was, stood at the front of the classroom, teaching them how to eat well when I weighed 28 stone.
“It was humiliating."
By the time Nygarie was 28 she weighed in at 28 stone – a stone on for every year of her life.
She admits to bingeing on sugary snacks at home in the village of Risca, near Newport, South Wales, as well as yo-yo dieting.

Nygarie said: "I tried every diet under the sun.
“I would lose three stone here and there but I'd put it back on so easily.
"I was the same age as my weight every year, and this continued until I was 28.
"My issue was binge eating every night on sugary snacks – I used to spend £10 to £20 on the binges."
Fed-up, Nygarie decided to do something long-term to fix her unhealthy habits and help her ditch her excess weight once and for all.
Nygarie decided to take a personal trainer – and the daily exercise paid off.
Now, she is down to 13 stone and teaches her pupils the benefits of exercising in conjunction with a balanced diet.
Nygarie, who teaches in Caerphilly, said: "Because I was so big I was worried about exercising in public but people were really encouraging.
"The weight started to drop off and I cut out the sugary snacks.
"I'm still losing weight and my pupils are quite impressed.
“I feel like I'm a good example now."
