Booking.com launches flash sale with up to 30% off and prices start from £32 per night

ONLINE travel agency Booking.com has launched a massive flash sale with up to 30% off hotels.

The sale will only run until 9am Saturday, with hotel rooms starting from as little as £32.

The discount will be appplied to the original price of the room, before taxes and charges.

Customers will be unable to use it in tandem with any other discounts.

There will be plenty of options for those looking to avoid the extra cost of Covid tests and flights by having a UK staycation.

The destinations on offer include: London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Harmondsworth, Aberdeen, Newcastle upon Tyne, Glasgow, Blackpool, Boston, Eastborne, Hillingdon, Oxford and Ilford.

As well as this, customers will be able to book stays as far in advance as August 13, 2022 – perfect for those still uncomfortable about travelling amid the spread of the coronavirus.

The sale also comes with free cancellation.

More ways to save money on hotels

Apart from flash deals there are a variety of ways you can save money on hotels.

One way is to search for rooms in incognito mode.

Google's incognito setting allows you to surf the web without sites adding cookies to your browser.

Online retailers are able to track your web searches using cookies, and can use the data to set your price according to location.

They can also raise the price if you repeatedly visit the site – in the hopes that this will force your hand to purchase the service before the price rises any further.

Another way to get the best deal is to book your hotel on a Friday.

According to a survey conducted by budget travel retailer Kayak, Friday is the cheapest day to book hotels. Kayak also recommends leaving your booking until the last minute when hotels are likely to drop prices.

The only exception to this rule is if you are travelling to a popular destination during a busy weekend. Then Kayak recommends booking your hotel early.
