A bride has left her mother in tears after disinviting her entire family from her Tuscany wedding – including her own parents – because she wants to keep it ‘very small.’
Kayla, from Houston, Texas, made the shocking revelation on a recent episode of TLC’s Say Yes To The Dress.
She explained how she and Anthony Travalent would be tying the knot at the Italian venue of Agriturismo Macinello in May.
But Kayla said she could not invite her mom ‘because of the snowball effect of everyone else coming.’

Kayla arrived at the Kleinfeld store along with her mom, stepmom and sister before setting out the scene of her picturesque wedding.
Consultant Lisa exuded enthusiasm about the plans and, turning to the bride’s family, gushed: ‘You must be so excited about going to Italy.’
But, shockingly, mom Danyelle replied: ‘We’re not going with her.’
‘She’s going to Italy. She’s getting married. But she’s coming back to Houston to have a reception with the whole family.’
It was then revealed that none of the bride’s family, including the three women present, would be attending.
In an attempt to defend the decision, Kayla said: ‘We’re having a really, really small ceremony. And we couldn’t bring the entire family.’
Her mom responded: ‘I have continued to tell her that I just can’t even imagine going to sleep at night and thinking that my daughter is getting married, and I’m not going to be there.’
Danyelle later fought back the tears as she continued: ‘It’s very heartbreaking that my first daughter is getting married, and the moment that she’s there and looks Anthony in the face and says “I do,” I’m not going to be there. I just feel like I can’t miss it.’

Despite the obvious upset, Kayla was not swayed and rebutted: ‘It just turned into snowball, snowball, snowball’

Despite the obvious upset, Kayla rebutted: ‘It just turned into snowball, snowball, snowball.
‘When you bring one, you bring 50 and it just turns into a really big thing.
‘And so I felt like keeping it very small and intimate was the best way for us to get what we truly wanted out of our wedding.’
She revealed that the guests who were invited were just the maid of honor and best man.
‘My mom has had the hardest time with the fact that she’s not going to be at the ceremony in Tuscany, because she’s hurt.
‘I’ve tried to explain to everyone, including my mom, that we will be having a full-on reception back at home in Houston with our entire family.
‘And we will make it up to them,’ she admitted.
Her mom was persistent however, as she urged: ‘I just would love to be there with you. And I just… I mean, my daughter is getting married.’
But it seems that despite the pleas Kayla was not swayed as she concluded: ‘It’s not that I don’t want her to come.
‘Of course, of course, I want her to come. It’s just the snowball effect of everyone else coming.’
