Three official new portraits have been released of Prince Christian of Denmark ahead of his 18th birthday.
The photographs, shared on Instagram by the Danish Royal Family alongside the schedule of events for the royal’s milestone occasion on October 15, show the second in line to the throne striking pose after pose.
In the first image, the 17-year-old appears suave in a royal blue suit with a sky blue shirt, while the second portrait shows the royal beaming at the camera while casually dressed in a T-shirt and jacket.
Finally, the third photo captures the prince with his hands in his trouser pockets, once again wearing the green jacket and white top.
The release of the portraits come after Crown Princess Mary’s eldest son reportedly introducing his ‘girlfriend’ Princess Maria Chiara of Bourbon-Two Sicilies to his grandmother, Queen Margrethe.

Explaining the diary of official events taking place to mark Christian’s big day, the images were captioned: ‘Sunday the 15th October 2023 His Royal Highness Prince Christian will be 18 years old.
‘Authority Day is celebrated with a change of guard at Amalienborg, where the Prince, along with his family and Her Majesty the Queen, appear on the balcony at Frederik VIII’s Palace,’ continued the caption, when translated from Danish to English.
It added: ‘In the evening, the Queen [will host] a gala dinner, where the invitees reflect Prince Christian’s own generation.’
Meanwhile, on November 14, Prince Christian ‘will participate in a meeting in the State Council’, explained the caption, adding: ‘Prince Christian will not get a seat in the State Council until a change of throne has taken place.’
The 17-year-old is said to have hosted Princess Maria Chiara of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, 18, in Denmark in June, making the brave decision to introduce her to his grandmother, the Danish monarch.
Royal insides said ‘they all took tea together’ and noted Chiara was extremely nervous about the meeting.
‘It’s an informal stamp of approval for Chiara because Margrethe doesn’t take tea with just anyone,’ the source told Women’s Day.
‘Chiara was in awe of the Queen – it’s been a dream of hers to meet such an iconic female ruler and she’s been practising her curtsies for months,’ they added.

Royal fans speculated Prince Christian of Denmark (centre right) was dating Princess Maria Chiara di Borbone-Two Sicilies (pictured right) after seeing this photo from the Monaco Grand Prix
The Princess appeared smitten as she told the Danish press she and the popular Prince have a beautiful friendship and have a lot of fun together.
The couple were recently seen enjoying ice cream together in St Tropez – Chiara has been posting holiday snaps from the resort town for two weeks.
Chiara is the youngest daughter to Prince Carlo, Duke of Castro, and Princess Camilla, Duchess of Castro. Her parents are also close family friends with Crown Princess Mary, 54, and Crown Price Frederik, 55.
Speculation on whether the two were dating began when a group photo emerged on social media of the two standing close together at the Monaco Grand Prix.

A Danish source told Woman’s Day: ‘Christian is just four months away from his 18th birthday and he’s interested in having a proper girlfriend, mostly to fend off wannabe fans, but he also likes the idea of having a real companion.
‘Chiara ticks all the right boxes – she’s funny, intelligent and very well connected via her social media.
‘Of course, Mary would love to see him date someone like Chiara, who, despite seeming to have a jet-set lifestyle, has never had a whiff of scandal, nor has her older sister Carolina.’
The source also seemed certain the two are dating. ‘Christian is definitely taken with Chiara – it remains to be seen if she feels the same.
‘For now, they get along well, both families approve and they have a lot of similar tastes in music, sports and even film.’
Fans will likely keep a close eye on whether any further images emerge of the two teens together.

Late last month it was reported Princess Mary’s nephew Count Nikolai of Denmark is moving to Australia to go to university, months after being stripped of his royal HRH title by his grandmother.
Handsome model Nikolai, 23, will study at UTS in Sydney for a semester, accompanied by his glamorous designer girlfriend Benedikte Thoustrup.
The pair live together in Copenhagen and are set to move to Sydney to study from August 1 to November 30.
Nikolai, whose father is Prince Joachim of Denmark, is seventh in line to the Danish throne.
In March, Count Nikolai of Denmark launched a new Instagram account to promote his modelling career after being stripped of his ‘HRH’ status by his grandmother, Queen Margrethe.
It was a tumultuous year for the Danish Royal Family after the monarch controversially took the title from Prince Joachim’s eldest son, as well as also taking the prince and princess titles from his younger children Athena, 11, Prince Felix, 20, and Prince Henrik, 13.
They are now Counts and Countess and referred to as Their Excellencies – and in January this year the Danish Royal Family updated their website to show the new status.
The Queen insisted the move will be ‘good for them in their future’ and allow the children – who have maintained their positions in the line of succession – to ‘shape their own lives without being limited by the special considerations and duties’ that a formal affiliation with the Danish Royal Family involves.
The news of the royal’s arrival in Australia was confirmed to Danish publication B.T. by press advisor Helle von Wildenrath Løvgreen.
B.T. reports the pair are currently looking for a Sydney apartment to live in and both have studied at the Copenhagen Business School and in Paris on exchange.
