A TikTok user found himself hiding in his own car with embarrassment after he failed to get out while it was being serviced at the garage.

In the hilarious video, user Mark Perpose is hunched down his vehicle while it is being lifted several feet in the air by machinery so a mechanic can change the tyres.

He says: "Guys. I forgot to get out of my car when I brought it to the auto shop to get my tyres changed. What do I do?!"

In the dramatic video, Mark explained he was so "spaced out" he "forgot" the mechanic told him to leave the car – and was only jerked back to reality by the sensation of being lifted in the air.

He said: "I was scheduled for a tyre change that day because I already knew the mechanic, and he told me to just pull up to the shop and once I got there the mechanic was going to get into my car and drive it into the workstation for me.

"When I got to the workshop, I hopped into the passenger seat while the mechanic went into the driver’s seat and drove my car into the bank.

"At that point the mechanic told me I wasn’t allowed to be in the car while they were installing my new tyres but because I have such a short attention span I kind of just spaced out and forgot what the mechanic told me."

When the car began lift Mark said he "froze" and then decided to hide.

He said: "I just started sinking lower into my seat because I was already so embarrassed."

When the car came down again he considered pretending he had fallen asleep but decided to just come clean and wave at the mechanic.

He said neither he nor the mechanic were in danger, so it was all ok.

Predictably, viewers were in stitches about the story and many said they were cringing along with him.
