WORKERS don’t have to hold down a full-time job to earn a bumper salary.

The highest paying part-time jobs can earn up to £800 a day and you don’t need a degree or any form of higher education.

It comes as demand for part-time employees has surged, according to job site Adzuna.

The firm’s data showed there were more than 20,000 part-time job openings in February 2023 – a 20% increase year-on-year.

The average salary for a part-time role advertised was £25,622 but there are many roles that will pay far more.

Aside from locum doctor and locum dentist, which require specialised training, top of the list is a life coach with an average pro rata wage of £47,879.

This is closely followed by part-time software developer with an annual pro rata salary of £47,728.

Both these roles will likely need some form of training or experience, but a degree isn't a necessity.

You can alsoearn a typical £47,609 pro rata being an extra without any previous experience.

Some extra jobs listings on Adzuna’s site offer pay up to £800 for a day’s work.

And one former drama teacher told The Sun how she makes £750 a day working as an extra.

Meanwhile, working as a private chauffeur is also a lucrative part-time profession paying £43,572 a year.

Or part-time electricians earn nearly as much at £43,537 – with some posts on Adzuna offering up to £250 a day.

Andrew Hunter, co-founder of Adzuna, said: “Part time roles are rising, providing more options to jobseekers who need to flex their work around other life commitments.

“Nowadays, taking a part time role doesn’t need to mean giving up salary or career progression – some locum roles still come with eye-watering pay packets, and arrangements like job shares are becoming more commonplace.

“In sectors with skill shortages, employers are facing a conundrum of how to fill open vacancies and offering part time options is one possible solution.”

However, you can make up to £1,000 a year from selling items online or odd jobs like dog-sitting, without having to tell HMRC or pay tax on your earnings.

Anything above this must be declared and you’ll need to fill out a self-assessment tax return.
