‘I have no arms and I’m 4ft7 – dating is awful as men talk to me like a child’

A 4ft7 woman with no arms admitted her dating life is a nightmare.

Brianne Surgeoner, 22, from Paisley, Scotland, never lets her disability stop her from doing what she loves.

The stunner is a makeup artist and has built up a huge TikTok following through showcasing her face painting talent.

After she developed amniotic band syndrome in the womb, Brianne lost both arms as well now dealing with functional neurological disorder.

Complications also resulted in Brianne in having a clubbed foot, bowed bones and hypoglycaemia.

Despite having a lot on her plate, the social media star urged she doesn't need the help of a lover to get by.

“I’ve never properly been in a relationship mainly because of work," she told The Sun.

“There’s people who you think are nice but they’re just nice to me because I’m disabled.

“If someone is comfortable around me they won’t always ask if I need help and they let me do my own thing."

Brianne wondered if she is "too picky" when it comes to dating as her friends have had multiple boyfriends.

But, she feels like she doesn't have much choice when it comes to her love life.

And that's all to do with the creepy men who she has come across.

She admitted that some men talk to her like she's a child.

"Weirder people talk to you like a child and I’m not a child," Brianne explained.

“You see pals having five boyfriends and all these different partners and you wonder if you’re too picky.

“But you have to be otherwise you could end up with a creep.”

As Brianne balances her TikTok influencing, makeup artistry and pursuing an acting career, she finds plenty of time for a social life.

However, going out on the town is not the easiest of activities.

Yet again, it boils down to men treating Brianne differently.

Although she doesn't mind drunk people asking questions, some cross a line.

Some even ask her how she 'lost' her arms and go as far as "poking" and "prodding" Brianne.

She often finds herself questioning if lads buy her "sympathy" drinks.

“It’s just the end of the elbow so I’ve no idea why, it’s not going to shoot out confetti, Brianne said.

"If anything they will be creeped out, it’s just bone and skin.

"People act like I should be grateful that anyone would even want to give me attention because I’m disabled, I’m broken.

“They get offended because a disabled girl just rejected them, how bad is that?"

As she's experienced a negative dating life so far, Brianne is determined to find someone who is right for her – and doesn't treat her any differently to that of an able-bodied person.

But, she fears she would be a "burden" on a future lover.

“Quite a lot of people who have a disability usually end up marrying one the first people they date.

“Sometimes people don’t mean it, they think they’re just being nice, but would you ask someone else if they needed help to do a really basic thing?”

Brianne recently signed with talent agency All Talent Agency and continues to grow her 24,000 TikTok following.
