The Shropshire terrace is a homage to its former eccentric artist owner, who carved the sandstone cellars to create a medieval themed banqueting hall with pillars.

Tim Bannister, of Rightmove, said: ‘From historical estates to homes with inspired design features, it’s clear to see why these properties have caught the eye of home-hunters this summer.’

The most viewed property online this summer is in Shropshire’s Bridgnorth and it looks like a standard brick terrace property from the outside.

But step inside and the unique interior is described by the estate agent handling the sale as a ‘museum’.

The interior is a homage to its former owner, the eccentric artist Antony Dracup who lived at the property between 1980 and 2000.

The agent explained: ‘While living in the cottage, Antony Dracup created what can only be described as a ‘film set’ themed around Alice In Wonderland, not only using his art, but also years of carving into the sandstone cellars to create a medieval themed banqueting hall with pillars.’
