My husband was sectioned after suffering a breakdown but I don't think his medication is working

DEAR DEIDRE: MY husband suffered a breakdown a month ago. He was sectioned for a week and he is now on medication but it doesn’t seem to be working.

He won’t communicate with me, or anyone else for that matter. I am so worried about him.

My mum died suddenly two weeks ago.

She had been struggling with her heart and had a spell in hospital, but she was expected to make a good recovery, so her death has come as a huge shock.

I am 59 and my husband is 61. My grief is on hold while I deal with my husband. I don’t seem to be able to get any immediate help for him.

Everything I have tried involves weeks of waiting or online appointments only, which he won’t engage with. Please can you help?
