Whether you’re buying online or grabbing something in a hurry from a physical store, it’s very disappointing when the item you need turns out somewhat different to what it says on the tin.  

People from around the world have shares the packaging that managed to surprise them on Reddit, and Bored Panda collated the best into a funny online gallery.

While there’s no suggestion the brands were intentionally trying to mislead their customer, these shoppers were understandably left frustrated. 

It includes one disgruntled diner in France, who opened their hearty-looking sandwich to find it was made from two mini wraps, thanks to a perfectly-placed label.

People have decided to share the packaging that managed to surprise them on Reddit and Bored Panda collated the best into an online gallery, including this shopper who claimed they only got 74 markers in a box of 150

Elsewhere an unhappy customer found a tiny package of popcorn in a massive popcorn tub and was left pretty disappointed that it wasn’t full up with their favourite snack.

Another thought they were getting a full pack of crayons however they claimed they only received just the four colours you can see in the packaging window.

Pepper-no-ni! A hungry customer in the US who was looking forward to tucking into a pizza was a little disappointed by the toppings when they opened the box  

Sacre bleu! In France, someone got two mini wraps which looked like one long sandwich due to a perfectly-placed label

Not a charm ! This jewellery kit looked like the customer, from France, would have plenty of pieces to choose from but after opening they were sadly disappointed 

This clever packaging makes it look like you get a full tub of cream from Florida brand Viking Revolution. However the inside is a smaller conic container 

Snack attack! This tiny package of popcorn came with this massive popcorn, which may have felt a little misleading

Where’s the rest? This person thought they were getting a full pack of crayons however they claimed they only received just the four colours you can see in the packaging window 

Always read the label! One US shopper was surprised to find that their tube of blemish cream wasn’t as big as they expected 

Fizzling out! These bath bombs turned out to be a half sphere, rather than the round shape the customer was expecting 

Another unhappy customer, from China, claimed they opened this box of beer jerky which was empty in the middle

Not what you want at the end of the rainbow! This pot of gold looked like it was holding lots of chocolate coins, however it was actually filled with plastic 

This customer, believed to be from the UK, said they were expecting a big tub of glue however it’s the normal size glue in a bigger packaging
