Stacey Solomon has shown just how much difference a single piece of bargain makeup can make to her appearance, and jokes that she’s “a catfish” when she’s in full glam.
The Loose Women star looked very fresh-faced on a new Instagram Stories demo as she appeared minus her signature lashes to show an impressive 60-second makeover.
“I’ve got no lashes on, I know shock horror! I never don’t wear lashes,” the bare-faced beauty tells her 5.4m followers. “I’ll show you the difference between with mascara and without.”
The product Stacey is raving about is from L’Oréal Paris, the beauty giant that unveiled her as a new ambassador via an incredible blonde at-home hair dye makeover for her wedding to Joe Swash. This time though, Stacey is modelling L’Oréal’s Lash Paradise Castor Oil-Enriched Volumising Mascara, which is currently on sale for just £8.39 here.
“I love this mascara when I don’t want to wear my strips,” explains Stacey, who looks remarkably different without her usual falsies. “I've got hardly any length on my lashes and hardly any lashes to be fair! So I need something that will build them up for me. There’s more mascara here than actual lash!”
In the sponsored post, the star strokes the brush through her lashes on one side, and stops to compare the difference. “My lashes are non-existent without it. There they are, little thinnies,” she laments, pausing to inspect the bare side, before comparing them with the impressively thick lashes on the other side.
“And there they are with mascara,” she coos, leaning into the lens and batting her lashes. “That was a really creepy look, sorry!” she concludes with a giggle.
Stacey also shared some beautiful photos of a new campaign, which she doesn’t name but captions “Shoot day for something special” with tear-eyed emojis, while La Vie En Rose plays.
In gorgeous photos, Stacey is seen with her honey blonde hair cascading down in shiny soft waves. Her makeup combines a nude lip, soft smokey eye and – of course – her full false lash look.
She tells her followers “Today I felt really pretty. Sometimes I don’t… Going to enjoy the feeling while it lasts.” The post quickly picked up 240,000 likes and 2,300 comments, including one from her husband, who wrote “Love u” with a fire emoji.
Stacey responded with a typically hilarious post on her Stories, writing: “Your messages are soooooo lovely. What a confidence boost. Thank you. You know I am a catfish [laugh emoj] This is lots of hair and makeup, very bright lights and a great camera crew. I do not wake up like this.”
That might be true but we think Stacey looks pretty fabulous both with and without makeup.
