He may have made a name for himself as one of the professional dancers on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, but it seems Giovanni Pernice is ready for a new venture as he officially makes his debut in the beauty world.
Earlier this week, Giovanni revealed his brand new unisex fragrance, VITA, which pays homage to the dancing pro’s home island of Sicily in Italy.
The unisex perfume is exclusively available on the officialGP VITA websiteand will set you back £75 for an impressively large 100ml bottle, and is available to buy just in time for Christmas, making it the perfect present for Strictly fans and perfume fanatics alike.
Giovanni said: “I have long been passionate about fragrance and the way scent, like dance, can captivate the emotions and transport us to another place. VITA is the embodiment of my passions, a personal and complex fragrance which slowly seduces as it unfolds on the skin.”
The genderless fragrance has top notes of bergamot and marine accord which were inspired by the sun-kissed coastline of the Mediterranean, whilst its heart notes have a more herbal aroma of Italian sage, 'dew of the sea' rosemary and germanium.
It finishes with base notes of Sicilian incense found in the region's churches, as well as earthy scents of patchouli which give it some added depth and contrast to the vibrant, zesty top notes. The overall result is a gorgeous genderless scent that captures the sensuality, vitality and energy of the Sicilian island.
It’s not just the smell that was inspired by the Italian island, though; the bottle also drew inspiration from Italian culture, with its slender clean glass bottle and minimalist cap, with even the name being written in an Italian serif font that references the country’s iconic columns.
You can get your hands on the fragrance just in time for Christmas (or the Strictly finale) for just£75 here, with the site also currently running a winter discount code that automatically saves you 15%, with the perfume currently reduced to just £63.75.
If you’d like to try out a similar scent profile before you commit to the VITA fragrance, M&S’ Bergamot & Cedarwood Eau De Toilette, £10 here, has a similar combination of citrus, earthy herbs and warm woody scents that give it a similar vibe to Giovanni’s latest venture.
Giovanni’s VITA is also a more affordable alternative fragrance for fans of Pairfum London’s Bergamot, Basil & Patchouli Eau de Parfum, £120 here, which also has notes of patchouli, geranium, bergamot, and herby notes like basil and green leaves.
