Luxury wine and food hamper retailer Virginia Hayward analysed recent Office for National Statistics data for England and Wales to discover the most popular baby names related to food and drink, with some intriguing finds.
Topping the list of most popular food-related baby names in England and Wales are Poppy and Reuben according to research.

Over the years 1996 until 2019 there were a handful of culinary-inspired names for girls included fruits such as Apple, Peach, Plum and Strawberry. Alcoholic beverages also featured, including Brandy, Champagne, Chardonnay, and Sherry.
Discussing putting the list together, Alex Walker, Marketing Manager at Virginia Hayward said: “We decided to look into culinary influences on recent baby names, and found that sugar, spice and all things nice (to eat) are inspiring parents in England and Wales.
“Plenty of unisex names featured in the list, as well as various beverages, edible flowers, herbs, spices, and fruits.”
