The ultimate Strictly Come Dancing drinking game to celebrate Halloween week

Saturday nights mean one thing at the moment – Strictly Come Dancing – well, especially if you're anything like us and are obsessed with the show.

We've already created a Love Island drinking game ready for its return in January, but let's not wish our lives away – let's instead enjoy a drink or two as the Strictly stars take to the dance floor this week dressed as our favourite Halloween characters.

In order to play along, you will need one long drink (it can be a spirit and mixer/beer/cider/wine), and one bottle for shots (it can be tequila/sambuca/sourz or whatever is your preference).

Don’t forget to tag us on Instagram @ok_mag if you do give the game a go…

Please make sure you drink plenty of water, don’t drink and drive and always consume alcohol responsibly.

Take a sip if…

  • Someone mentions being "scared".
  • Someone mentions they're a mum/dad/husband/wife/daughter/son.
  • A couple is scored a 4 or below from any of the judges.
  • Someone says the word "journey".
  • Someone says they've got no dance experience (take a double sip if you suspect it's not the whole truth).
  • A judge says a celebrity has "potential".
  • An entire outfit is sequinned.
  • The audience boo Craig Revel Horwood.

  • A judge stands up to demonstrate a move.
  • A judge appears to flirt with a celebrity.
  • Someone says they feel "proud".
  • A celebrity thanks their dance partner for their "patience" or says "it's all down to this one" following praise.

Have a shot if…

  • Someone makes a Halloween pun.
  • Someone forgets their routine (an extra shot if the judge congratulates them on continuing anyway).
  • Claudia or Tess struggle to get their lines out.
  • Two or more judges do a standing ovation.

  • CGI is used during the routine.
  • Someone thanks the hair and makeup or costume department.
  • Someone mentions having a busy schedule.

Finish your drink if…

  • A couple scores above 36.
  • A dancer disagrees with a judge.
  • Someone makes a change of outfit as part of the routine.
  • Someone starts the routine on or in a prop.

  • Tess or Claudia use a prop.
  • Someone cries.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday and Sunday on BBC One.
