Often, cheap flights end up landing us with a whole load of extra charges, from extortionate in-flight refreshments to baggage fees that outstrip the fare itself.
As a result, some prefer to upgrade to premium economy, business or first class services.
But there’s now an airline that includes the luxuries of business class as standard, offering free food and drink, WiFi, and comfy seats with extra legroom to every single passenger.
BermudAir is due to take to the skies from August 31, although its custom-designed ‘Aisle Class’ pods won’t be rolled out until November 1 due to supply chain issues.
The carrier’s fleet of jets will fly from Boston, Fort Lauderdale, and New York to Bermuda (home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches – including those with pink sand) with tickets initially priced from $199 (£158) and later from $999 (£793) once the full service is ready.
Each plane will have only thirty seats, with overhead lockers removed to create a more spacious feel throughout the cabin.
Instead, there’s storage space in the pod for a carry-on luggage and a personal item, while the layout is 1:1, giving every traveller the benefits of both the window and aisle from every seat.
These seats then include power for charging devices, free WiFi and in-flight entertainment, privacy walls, workspaces and complimentary food and drink
The onboard food includes curated treats from Bermuda-based French bakery l’Artisan Boulangerie and Ahmani’s Cookie Company, and the beverage offering features cocktails like the Rum Swizzle and a signature Dark n Stormy that blends Goslings Black Seal Rum, ginger beer, and lime.

‘Our mission to elevate the travel experience for everyone and provide well-timed, traveller-centric, stress-free flights on these new routes is just the beginning.’
It may not have the low price points budget airlines boast, but if you want to fly in style without added fees, this service could be the one for you.
