Prince William has sent royal fans wild after making a gushing comment about the Princess of Wales during their visit to Birmingham.
The royal couple hosted a reception at The Rectory restaurant in the city’s Jewellery Quarter yesterday and also met with This Morning presenter Alison Hammond.
For their day of engagements, the mother-of-three, 41, wore a sophisticated £229 burgundy pleated midi dress from Karen Millen.
Styling her brunette locks in her signature loose waves, the royal opted for minimal makeup and completed her look with some statement gold dangly earrings by Sezane – which were reportedly a Christmas present from Prince William.
Ahead of their reception, the royal couple greeted royal fans outside of The Rectory restaurant – where William made the sweet comment about his wife.

In footage captured by Twitter user Isa, Prince William is seen happily speaking with members of the public who had queued to catch a glimpse of them both.
As he works his way through the crowd, one woman tells the royal: ‘What an amazing outfit Kate has got on! It’s beautiful!’
In response, William said: ‘Oh she always looks stunning.’
Touched by the heartwarming comment, members of the crowd were then heard saying ‘aww’ off camera.
Taking time to speak with all the well-wishers, the clip shows the royal beaming as he accepted a packet of crisps from another fan.
He said: ‘Thank you so much! These will keep me going on the way home. Thank you very much.’
The 40-second video ends with William shaking hands with members of the public and posing for a series of selfies.
Isa’s video has amassed over 67,000 views since it was uploaded onto Twitter last night and sent royal fans into a frenzy.

This photograph of the royal couple (pictured right) at the Indian Streatery was posted to their Twitter account, with the caption: ‘Hope we told this customer to come to the right place…! @indianstreatery’ after William took a phone call from a diner at the restaurant
During their trip, William and Kate, who travelled to Birmingham by train, visited the Indian Streatery, an authentic, family-run independent Indian restaurant based in the city centre.
While he and Kate were being served a range of Indian dishes at the restaurant on Bennetts Hill, William answered the unexpected phone call and took a booking for two.
The call came towards the end of the visit at about 1.45pm when the prince and princess were about to be offered a selection of dishes to taste. ‘Should I take the order?’ joked William.
Then, before anyone had time to react, he picked up the phone and started talking to the diner. ‘Do we have a seat for two right now?’ William asked Meena Sharma, head chef and co-owner with her husband Rakesh. ‘Half past two?’ he suggested. ‘Does that work for you? No, apparently not right now.
‘You’ve got a train at 3? If you could get in at half past two that would be fine. For two people? Maybe a quarter past two, and you could make the train at three?’
Meena Sharma, doing her best to keep a straight face, chipped in to say: ‘We have some guests in that are probably not going to leave by then. We don’t have any tables free.’
The only glitch in an otherwise faultless performance was that William mangled the address of the restaurant, turning ‘Bennetts Hill’ into something that sounded more like Benitsia Street. As he put the phone down and the restaurant erupted in laughter, the prince said: ‘I’ve probably sent him somewhere else in Birmingham so I apologise.’
But despite the misdirection, the diner managed to find the place. At 2.15pm, the customer Vinay Aggarwal and his wife Ankita Gulati, visiting from London, arrived at the restaurant ahead of their train home at 3pm.
