Woman’s stern warning about home haircuts after huge shaving fail’ : ‘It’s my biggest regret’

A woman has revealed her ‘biggest beauty regret’ and issued a warning against making changes to your hair without a professional.

Anna Leigh, from Florida, has been shaving her widow’s peak at the top of her forehead for almost five years.

The 19-year-old added the unfortunate step to her beauty routine when she turned 15, and has been unable to let her hair grow out ever since.

A widow’s peak is a type of hairline which forms a point in the middle of a person’s forehead in a ‘V’ shape.

Anna Leigh revealed that she ‘hated’ her hairline and simply wanted to get rid of it – not knowing the activity would cause her a lot of pain and patience to maintain.

Many consider the trait ‘undesirable’ and several others have revealed instances of being bullied for ‘McDonald’s hairlines’.

Anna Leigh shared a short clip revealing a slightly grown out widow’s peak – which meant she’d have to take some clippers to the hairs soon. 

‘I wish I could go back in time and punch 15-year-old me for shaving my widow’s peak,’ she said in the video. ‘What was [I] thinking?’

Anna Leigh was too embarrassed to deal with the ‘awkward phase’ of her hair growing out, and decided to continue to shave it.

‘It would have grown back by now but I am stupid,’ she said. ‘I went too far back.’

Many others with window’s peaks revealed that they were also stuck in the same cycle.

‘God, I thought I was the only one who shaved it,’ a woman said.

‘I hate my widow’s peak so much – it’s off-centre and I always got bullied because of it,’ another wrote.

While others shared their difficult journeys attempting to grow their hair back out after shaving the feature.

‘I used to do the same thing,’ a woman said. ‘I kept shaving it further and further back – but I eventually let it grow up. It was terrible for a month so two but it was definitely worth it.’

‘You should use some rosemary oil for hair growth,’ another wrote.

‘I got a fringe so that my widow’s peak would grow out without anyone noticing,’ a third revealed.

Several even revealed their ‘hacks’ to sculpt their hairlines.

‘I know someone who lasered hers off,’ a commenter wrote. ‘She loves her hair now.’

‘I pluck mine so that it looks like baby hairs when it grows back. I’ve been doing it for almost a decade and you can’t tell,’ a second said.
