A woman was told her husband left her looking like Baldrick from Blackadder when he gave her a free haircut.

In the clip of the disaster trim, TikTok user Kate Rorison jokes: "Just sat here thinking about the haircut my husband gave me in lockdown."

Kate then moves away to reveal a photo of the haircut she describes as the "worst mistake of my life".

Her black hair looks to be in a bowl cut, favoured more by medieval men than modern thirty-something women.

Kate's fringe is also rather wonky, and she said her husband even managed to give her an undercut at the back she has to disguise with clips.

To add to the comedy of the moment, Kate uses the TikTok sound: "It is so bad, I wanna give you a zero – but that's not possible. So I give you a one."

"I’m smiling in the photo but drama followed shortly after,'' she wrote wryly in the comments.

The video was watched more than 40,000 times and people were in stitches, with many confessing they felt guilty for laughing so much at Kate's misfortune.

A few people said the cut gave them "Baldrick from Blackadder vibes" and one user joked: "Verily I say, lead me henceforth to Ye Olde Ale House."

''How have you been since the divorce?'' someone else quipped, to which Kate replied she was "wearing a wig".

Kate wasn't the only person who risked a lockdown haircut from an untrained family member that went badly wrong.

Another person said: ''My hubby cut my hair too, looked like he cut it with a knife and fork lol."

'In a similar situation, a woman said: "I let my daughter cut mine and it's only now just grown back so I can hide it in a ponytail."
