Arsenal lose highly-rated England 16-year-old Yunus Musah to Valencia after midfielder impresses for U18s – The Sun

ARSENAL have lost highly-rated youngster Yunus Musah to Valencia.

The 16-year-old turned down a scholarship offer from the Gunners to sign a two-year deal with the Spanish side.

Musah had attracted interest from a number of club's following his incredible spell of form for Arsenal's Under-18 side.

The midfielder scored five goals and provided three assists in 17 games last season.

After his switch to Valencia was confirmed, he shared a picture of himself in the club kit with his 6,900 Instagram followers.

Alongside the image, he wrote: "I am over the moon to have officially signed for @valenciacf.

"Delighted to join a club with such rich history and now I get to be a part of it! Can't wait to get started."

It is understood that he initially signed to be a part of Valencia's Under-19 squad, but has been playing for the reserves since his arrival.

He shared a message on Instagram earlier this week to thank Arsenal for their support during his time in North London.

He wrote: "I have decided to take a different step in my pathway to achieve my dream.

"I cannot express my gratitude to the overwhelming support the club gave me throughout the course of my journey with Arsenal.

"Not a day will pass without without remembrance to those who have helped me achieve in my career this far.
