Arsenal make final contract offer to Eddie Nketiah amid transfer interest from West Ham and Crystal Palace

ARSENAL have made Eddie Nketiah a final contract offer to keep him at the Emirates Stadium.

The Daily Mail are reporting that there is growing confidence that Nketiah will stay at the club despite increasing interest from West Ham and Crystal Palace.

The striker had reportedly rejected the chance to extend his current deal, which is up this summer.

But having enjoyed a run in the starting XI at the end of the season, he may now have been convinced to stay.

Mikel Arteta is supposedly a big fan of Nketiah and with Alexandre Lacazette leaving the club there is a chance he continues as first choice striker next season.

The 22-year-old started eight league games for the Gunners this campaign scoring five goals. He was also substituted on 13 times.

In addition, he played a big role in Arsenal's run to the Carabao Cup semi-final, netting five times in five matches.

Overall, he has registered 23 goals during in his Arsenal career.

Palace and West Ham are two of the club's that could be his next destination if he leaves.

Eagles boss Patrick Vieira is believed to be keen on bolstering his attack this summer, while West Ham are in the market for a new striker to compete with Michail Antonio.

However, the Hammers seem to have already set their sights on other options as they target Chelsea's Armando Broja and Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins.

Even if Arsenal retain Nketiah for next season they appear to still want another centre-forward, with Gabriel Jesus mentioned as a potential option.

However with the Gunners failing to secure Champions League football next season attracting top targets could prove tough.
