Arsenal 'prepare record £86m Victor Osimhen transfer offer' as they look to beat Man Utd to Napoli striker | The Sun

ARSENAL are reportedly preparing a club-record £86million bid for Victor Osimhen.

That’s as Mikel Arteta looks to beat Manchester United to the highly-rated Napoli striker.

Gazzetta claims Osimhen, 23, is in high demand this summer.

The Nigeria international has scored 24 goals in 51 Serie A games since a £60m move from Lille in 2020.

And Osimhen is now ready to take the next step in his career by playing in England.

Man United are interested in a deal as Erik ten Hag looks to support Cristiano Ronaldo up front.

But Arsenal have been monitoring Osimhen since his days in France.

And Arteta reckons he would be the perfect replacement for Alexandre Lacazette, who has just rejoined Lyon on a free transfer.

Napoli are demanding £86m to let Osimhen go this summer.

Yet Arsenal have not been put off by the price tag, it's claimed.

And they are even willing to meet it knowing that United are not prepared to pay that fee.

Should Arsenal bid £86m, it would shatter the £72m fee they paid for Nicolas Pepe in 2019.

Arsenal’s move for Osimhen comes as they also close in on Gabriel Jesus.

It’s reckoned Man City are set to accept a £50m bid from the Gunners, despite additional interest from Chelsea and Spurs.
