The defending champions, who beat Inter Milan in last year's final, begin their campaign against Red Star Belgrade, and are 1/11 favourites to beat their Serbian opponents at the Etihad on Tuesday.
City were drawn in Group G along with RB Leipzig, Red Star Belgrade and Young Boys, and are expected to advance to the knockout stages with a minimum of fuss and are available at 2/1 to defend their crown in the Wembley final on June 1st.
Bayern Munich are second-favourites at 11/2 with Harry Kane now spearheading their attack.
The Bundesliga champions have won the competition six times, and last lifted the trophy in 2020 when beating Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in Lisbon.
Thomas Tuchel's side are joined in Group A along with Manchester United, FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
The tournament's most successful side Real Madrid are priced at 15/2 to add to their collection of 14 Champions League triumphs, and should navigate their way past Napoli, Braga and Union Berlin.

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are considered 'best of the rest' at 10/1 after an impressive Premier League campaign last season. The Gunners have never won the competition but did reach the final in the 2005-06 season.
Arsenal have been paired with Sevilla, PSV Eindhoven and RC Lens in a fairly straightforward Group B.
Paris Saint-Germain head in to the Champions League at one of their biggest prices of 12/1.
And there's good reason for that with Neymar or Lionel Messi no longer at the club, and their 'group of death' opponents in Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Newcastle.
Barcelona are 14/1 with Xavi's side expected to be too strong for Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk and Royal Antwerp in Group H.
Last year's finalists Inter Milan and Manchester United are available at 20/1 to win the competition, ahead of Atletico Madrid and Newcastle, who are locked together at 22/1.
