ANDREAS CHRISTENSEN is set to ease Chelsea’s contract headaches by signing an extension ‘within days’.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is currently negotiating new deals with almost all of his first-choice defenders.
The Denmark international recently said he had ‘no idea’ if he would be extending his Stamford Bridge stay.
But reports now suggest the 25-year-old is ready to pen a new long-term deal at the club he joined back in 2012.
That will come as a blow to the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan who have been tracking the centre-back for months.
Barca had been hoping to make a move for the defender if he became a free agent in the summer.
And Milan were even preparing to go earlier with a potential bid in January as a replacement for the injured Simon Kjaer.
Christensen has been a central figure in the miserly Chelsea defence that has conceded just nine Premier League goals so far this season.

Fellow defenders Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta are all also coming to the end of their contracts.
Rudiger looks set to leave for Real Madrid next summer, with the Germany international reportedly not interested in a Blues extension.
The veteran Silva could return to his native Brazil for his swansong at the age of 37.
Club captain Azpilicueta had been eyeing a one-year deal in West London but now seems likely to depart for the Nou Camp next season.
