Chelsea insiders ‘disappointed and frustrated’ at Lewis Hall departure while big name flop remains at club | The Sun

INSIDERS at Chelsea have reportedly grown frustrated that the club are offloading talent like Lewis Hall whilst keeping hold of disappointing signings.

The Blues said goodbye to academy graduate Hall this week as he joined Newcastle United on a loan with an option to buy.

And the deal has caused those working at Chelsea to feel "disappointed and frustrated" with the club's transfer dealings.

According to The Athletic, concerns have been expressed that the London club are returning to their old model of allowing talented prospects to leave in order to fund big money signings.

It is also said that those within the club are frustrated that Marc Cucurella remains at Stamford Bridge despite his abysmal campaign last term.

The Spanish full-back cost them £62million last summer and managed just 24 Premier League appearances last season.

Chelsea are in a delicate position with regard to FFP as they have spent almost £1billion in the last three transfer windows.

The arrival of Todd Boehly has seen last season's 12th place finishers bring in an astonishing 24 new players.

This has meant they have been forced to offload a number of players this summer in order to balance the books with Hall one of those getting pushed out of the door.

Big names have also left Stamford Bridge with Kai Havertz joining Arsenal, Mason Mount heading for Manchester United and Mateo Kovacic signing for treble winners Man City.
