Crystal Palace 'set to appoint unemployed Adi Hutter as new manager' after Roy Hodgson interim spell | The Sun

CRYSTAL PALACE are set to appoint Adi Hutter as their new boss at the end of the season, according to reports.

The Eagles hired Roy Hodgson as manager until the end of the season after sacking Patrick Vieira last month.

Hodgson, 75, has inspired Palace to three consecutive wins, propelling the South Londoners away from the relegation zone.

In the meantime, the Eagles are succession planning for next season.

According to Austrian outlet Kurier, Palace are on the cusp of appointing Hutter as their new boss.

The 53-year-old Austrian has been out of work since leaving Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of last season.

Hutter was recently linked with the Leicester job, before the post went to Dean Smith.

He has previously managed RB Salzburg, Young Boys, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Monchengladbach.

During his time with Eintracht, Hutter guided them to the Europa League semi-finals.

He left Monchengladbach after just one season last summer, having come a disappointing tenth in the Bundesliga.

Hutter would become the second Austrian to manage in the Premier League, after Ralph Hasenhuttl.

On his future, Hutter confirmed last week: "I've always set myself big goals. The Premier League would be a big goal."

Palace sit 12th in the Premier League, nine points above the relegation zone and just three behind Chelsea.

It's claimed that Hodgson could remain at Palace in an advisory role, with Hutter taking charge.
