CU Buffs receiver La’Vontae Shenault suspended – The Denver Post

Colorado receiver La’Vontae Shenault has been suspended once again.

On Monday, CU head coach Karl Dorrell announced that Shenault has been suspended indefinitely for violating team and athletic department rules.

The third-year freshman began serving his suspension on Saturday and did not play in the Buffaloes’ 10-7 loss to Texas A&M. He caught two passes for 23 yards in the Sept. 3 season opener against Northern Colorado.

This is the third separate suspension for Shenault since Dorrell was hired as head coach in February of 2020.

In 2020, Shenault missed the season opener against UCLA as he served a one-game suspension after being arrested by Fort Collins police early on the morning of July 5, 2020, on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a license violation and driving without headlights at night.

He was suspended again, with CU citing a “violation of department policy,” for the Buffs’ trip to San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 29.

Shenault, who redshirted in 2019, has caught 19 passes for 216 yards in his career with the Buffs. He also had two kickoff returns for 55 yards in 2020.
